We shouldn’t have a favourite site at The Traditional Company, but we cannot help ourselves with this one. Here in Gloucestershire we have installed the very best of what we offer from Estate Fencing to Lawn Edging to an Amphitheatre.
Garden Design
The Client originally got in contact with us and sent us a full plan of his garden design, we were hired to install an Amphitheatre, Steel Lawn Edging, Steel Estate Fencing, Steel Handrail and Corten Planters which would establish the framework of the garden. We were able to work alongside the landscapers and client to achieve the desired design and look of the garden.
Installation of Estate Fencing
The first task was the Estate Fencing Installation along the perimeter of the grounds. Our fence is an aspirational product, adding value to your property and defining formal from less formal areas. It improves the safety of your home and does this in a classical, timeless way that enhances the wider landscape. We installed two heights of Steel Fence overall, 1m high and 1.2m high. The 1m high fence was installed to not obstruct the view as it was close to the house. Quadrant Entrance Gates were installed to both entrances and automated to add security to the property, along with 4 other pedestrian gates surrounding the garden.
Steel Amphitheatre
Our next visit was the one we were all excited for, it was to install the Steel Amphitheatre. The client had always wanted one. We worked closely together with Emotive Landscapes who are based in Cheltenham. It is made using Corten Steel and is left to rust naturally. We began by installing supports and cemented those into the ground to form the required shape. This averaged out at 1 per meter. Next 170 meters of Corten Steel was welded to the supports, defining its beautiful curve and levels. Artificial grass was skilfully fixed in place on top as a low maintenance free finish.
Driveway & Lawn Edging
Next was to define the borders, this included Driveway Edging and Lawn Edging this defined and created the shape of the lawn. Our Legacy Edging creates a crisp, clean edge to your lawn or driveway allowing the grass to be mown up to and over the steel edge resulting in a virtually zero maintenance solution.
Steel flower beds
Following the design, Four Corten Steel flower beds were installed. Elegantly starting from ground level, the ground slopes away into the amazing view. Corten Steel is left to rust to its natural patina which is not only beautiful but will last for years to come. The client opted to use this steel for the raised beds as it is not affected by the elements – so it does not become brittle with the cold weather or rot.
Project Conclusion
We really have enjoyed all of our visits back to this job and it is wonderful to see how the raised beds have developed and how the Corten Steel has rusted. This is a truly beautiful garden and it was a pleasure to work with the client and Emotive Landscapes in Gloucestershire.
