We were delighted to be approached by Will Draper Garden Design as part of the wider restoration of this beautiful country house in Norfolk.
The project began with the installation of Burghley Estate Fencing along the driveway, creating a clear separation and opening up views through the woodland. The 1.2m-high, five-rail Burghley Estate Fencing continued around the parkland, carefully set 4m back from the outer hedging. This created a practical outer track, allowing easy access for hedge maintenance while also providing a natural route for walks around the estate.
The park is home to a small flock of Valais Blacknose – quite possibly some of the most adorable sheep ! 🐑
Phase Two
The second phase saw us further divide the parkland with additional gates, giving the estate greater control over its grazing areas. This has proved particularly valuable this year, with challenging drought conditions making effective grazing management more important than ever.
All of our gates are handmade to the exact size and design required. Featured below is our Diamond Gate, fitted with a sliding latch as standard. Each gate can also be finished with your choice of a scroll, shepherd’s hook or top finish.
For this installation, the client chose our scroll design, paired with a Rutland top-end post to complete the look. As with the Phase One installation, the fencing was finished in black, creating a smart and cohesive finish across the estate.
Phase Three
Our third phase took us back into the Kitchen Garden, where we created a collection of bespoke features, including Rose Arch Walkways and a Domed Structure.
The dome will be beautifully over-planted, and we’re looking forward to seeing how it develops. We’ll be sharing images in due course as the planting matures.
Each feature was designed by the client and designer and carefully crafted by our fabrication unit. To ensure they could be transported and installed with ease, the structures were delivered to the client’s house in sections, ready to be welded together and positioned in place.
We concluded the project with the installation of a large bespoke Arbour, completing the series of structures and creating another focal point within the parkland.
Throughout the project, we worked closely with the client and the Will Draper design team to ensure that every element complemented the landscape and worked practically within the estate. Following the designs the fabrication team were able to make this fantastic steel structure.
