Our fluted Estate Tree Guards protect the tree trunks and lower branches from such animals as muntjac, deer, cows, sheep and horses. Tree protection fencing helps to protect your valuable trees from animal and human damage. Our standard size is big enough to accommodate most sizes of tree as they grow from saplings to mature trees.
Handmade at our Fabrication Unit in Leicestershire, the tree guards are primed and painted before being sent out for delivery. At The Traditional Company, we only use British Steel that can withstand any weather condition.

Tulip Tree Guards
The Traditional Company design, manufacture and supply metal tree guards directly to your door. Tree guards provide an architectural and decorative solution to stopping animals from interfering with the natural growth of the tree.
Our heavy-duty tree guards are normally found in rural areas or in the parkland of large country estates where deer and cattle are present. We have our standard size which will easily fit most trees of all ages. Our standard size has a height of 1700mm above ground level with a 900mm diameter at the base, they can either be left to rust naturally or painted to match your estate colours.
Our Estate Tree Guards are delivered to your door ready for self-installation. Delivered in 2 halves that are easily bolted together with hooked solid steel securing pins that are driven into the ground.
Our metal tree guards will last for over 60 years, protecting the trees and preventing damage from livestock and horses.
Bespoke Tree Guards
We offer a bespoke tree guard service where we can manufacture to your exact guard size requirements.
These are particularly useful for protecting the branches of more mature trees. Please contact the office for more information.
The Queen’s Green Canopy
The Traditional Company were invited to make metal Tree Guards to coincide with the QGC’s Celebration Trees initiative, which gifted Jubilee trees to selected Primary Schools in the areas of socio-economic deprivation in 70 cities across the UK.
Our talented team at our Fabrication Unit in Leicestershire hand-made each Tree Guard and painted them to the specifically chosen colour.
National Trust Shugborough Estate
The Traditional Company delivered metal tree guards to the National Trust Shugborough Estate in Staffordshire. We have worked for many National Trust sites and have been to Shugborough numerous times installing our Estate Fencing.
They requested our decorative tree guards to be primed and painted grey to match the fencing previously installed. The estate has been under restoration and has included taking everything back to this decorative design. We have a fabrication unit in Leicestershire so we are able to manufacture our tree guards to your exact bespoke specifications and finish in any colour.

We have a fence!!
Our boundary between next door and us was in a sorry state. There was an old rusty dangerous fence scattered all along and then patchworked together with wire and plastic… ivy overgrown and the lime trees in an overgrown sorry state…
But nooowwww we have such clean fresh line with beautiful estate fence, welded and painted on sight thanks to @thetraditionalco We absolutely love it!!
We now need to collect all the bricks, dead wood and leaves etc… rake it all over and seed to the line of the trees to get the grass back. We will then have the lime trees tidied up properly in the autumn once the birds have vacated… it for now it’s just perfect!!
