We are proud to have our Estate Fencing at numerous National Trust Estates. Including Osterley Park, Mottisfont, Shugborough Estate and Knole

Recently we returned to finish phase 2 at Tattershall Castle in Lincolnshire.

In 1231 Robert de Tateshale received a licence from King Henry III to build a crenelated manor house out of stone at Tattershall. His castle consisted of a great hall, kitchens, gatehouse and a chapel defended by a curtain wall surrounded by a single moat.

In August 1914 the castle was opened as a visitor attraction. When Lord Curzon died in 1925, Tattershall Castle was bequeathed to the National Trust in his will, and has remained open to visitors ever since.

The first initial enquiry came through in May 2022 to install Estate fencing across two phases at Tattershall Castle. The site is partly within a scheduled ancient monument so they had to apply for permission for the fencing to be installed, we provided the National Trust with all the necessary productions for sign off with the regulation committee. This sign of process took roughly 3 months.

Part of the approval process meant that a small section (about 15m) couldn’t be installed as per our usual standards (posts 800mm below ground and concrete every third) so they had to be cut down on site to about 300mm below ground and concreted every post to ensure the rigidity and strength of the fence line.

The work was carried out in two phases

Phase 1 – November 2022 (65m)

Phase 2 – March 2023 (70m)

We are looking forward to going back to Shugborough again soon for their next installation.

Bespoke Vertical Screens for County Garden Management

We collaborated with County Garden Management to manufacture bespoke vertical screens for a garden project in Essex, designed to soften a large brick wall and enhance the overall space. Fabricated in-house at our Leicestershire facility, the screens were created from detailed technical drawings and will naturally develop a rich, weathered patina within a few months, blending seamlessly into the landscape.
