We have recently been back and completed our Steel Edging installation at Mottisfont, National Trust near Romsey, Hampshire

The wider space at Mottisfont is a fantastic place to explore and take a relaxing walk whilst taking in the sights of Hampshire’s glorious countryside. With beautiful carpets of flowers there is a stunning walled rose garden with a world-famous collection of old-fashioned roses which flowers once a year in June. There are winding paths meander through stately trees, with the sound of water never far away.

The team installed 588 meters of Steel Legacy Edging. Replacing the original wooden edging that had rotted away. The main reason our solid steel edging is far superior to wooden edging, is that it is long lasting and will not rot or become weak and brittle. This is imperative when you have the general public walking around the grounds.

The wooden edge had to be removed and our edging was installed in sections to protect the public from the open trenches. Once each section was completed the National trust team with their volunteers followed up behind us renewing the grass.

It was installed running along the public pathway creating a clean separation between the shingle path and the lawn. When it came to the drop curb the team lowered the edging further into the ground. Not only for wheel chair users but It was also for the maintenance to drive their machinery over with out the edging getting in the way. The sides of the drop curb were rounded off to remove a sharp edge and remove a potential trip hazard.

Charlie our Team Leader headed up the site and had this to say.. It was a pleasure to be back working with the National Trust. The general public were very interested in what we were doing and watching the difference it made to the footpaths.

It was lovely to have feedback from Rob Ballard, Head Gardener at Mottisfont..

I just wanted to say a big thank you for completing the Metal edging job here at NT Mottisfont. It looks really great. 😊 Your team were a pleasure to deal with and were very professional and efficient. Thank you again

We collaborated with County Garden Management to manufacture bespoke vertical screens for a garden project in Essex, designed to soften a large brick wall and enhance the overall space.
