The client reached out to The Traditional Company as they wanted a handrail to help them get up and down the steps. They love their garden and wanted something that interacted with the space and plants.
With the beautiful garden as inspiration, there was lots of pot plants that the client didn’t want to be boxed in. They wanted something a little different but they were unsure to what that was. Martin came up with a concept and created some sketches of what the client was envisioning. Martin wanted the design to be organic and to blend and compliment the surroundings. The client loved the design and the fabrication team began the creation.

The Fabrication team made the railings using a combination of rollers and heat to form the tendrils that supported the hand rail. We used prefabricated flowers and leaves which were integrated throughout the railings. In total the length of railing was 8m approximately.
The installation involved core cutting a hole into her existing paving and resin bonding the uprights into position. To get the finished effect the railings were sent to be galvanised and we then etched them to get the finished result.

We are looking forward to going back soon to create 3 more sets of railings for more steps. We are going to do the same style railings and this time we are going to make some orchid flowers and leaves from scratch. Keep an eye on our social media media to see updates coming soon.
