Project category

We install our Traditional Estate Fencing all around the country on a weekly basis and we get very excited when a client requests something a little bit different.

Before

Before

The client based in Hampshire, got in contact with us to replace an old wooden garden fence that was falling apart and becoming unsafe. They wanted a steel fence as it would last longer but it had to hide the neighbouring garden which was over grown and keep the dog in. They wanted it to be something of a feature whilst complimenting the rest of the garden.

New Fence

After

We decided to install a Woven Steel Fence that would be left to rust naturally thus in keeping with the surrounds, this would also hide and hold back the neighbours garden whilst securely keeping the dog enclosed. The original fence was removed and cleared from the site. Normally when we install Estate Fencing, we would set up a string line to check its position and mark where the pins would be installed but as this was on a boundary the fence would be installed where the original one was removed. 20mm steel pins were installed into the ground 50cm apart. We used 3mm thick steel that we weaved between the pins layering from the ground upwards. Each strip was then welded to the pins to hold it all together.

One Year On

One Year On

The fence took a year to fully rust and It was a real pleasure to go back recently and see how it was looking.

Woven steel can also be used to hold back hard landscaping such as creating tiers in the garden. Not only is it architecturally stunning but long lasting. The steel can be left to rust naturally or painted depending on your design.
