This week, we’re chatting with Karen, Director of The Traditional Company. Based in the office, Karen plays a key role in the day-to-day running of the business, managing client interactions and overseeing sales. With a strong focus on building relationships and delivering excellent service, she is often the first point of contact for clients and an essential part of the company’s continued success.
Q: How did your journey with the company begin?
Fourteen years ago, The Traditional Company was a start-up, so it was very much all hands on deck. My background in working closely with clients and managing teams meant I was able to contribute early on and support the company as it grew.
Q: How has the business evolved over time?
It didn’t take long for The Traditional Company to develop a broad product range, driven by the skills and creativity within the business. Heritage names such as Burghley Estate Fencing and Legacy Edging helped differentiate our offering, and alongside a user-friendly, visually strong website, we began to build real momentum in the marketplace.
As the brand grew, so did our ability to provide more tailored solutions to our clients.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your role?
No two days are the same, which I really enjoy. Working alongside such a friendly and motivated team is a huge bonus.
Our fabrication team is at the heart of everything we do — they produce the products that support both our sales and our highly skilled installation teams working nationwide.






Q: How does the team handle challenges?
Like any business, we face challenges, but as a team we focus on resolving them quickly and effectively.
We’re supported by strong managers and team leaders who work hard to ensure everything runs smoothly and that communication remains clear across the business.
Q: What has been a standout moment for the company?
One of the most rewarding moments for all of us was receiving a Royal Warrant from His Majesty King Charles III.
It was a tremendous honour and a real reflection of the hard work and dedication across the entire team.

I aim to get the best out of everyone each day, encouraging teamwork, consistency, and a positive working environment.
