At Hood Lane Farm in the picturesque Warwickshire village of Ansley, we crafted a stunning new entrance to complement the character of this 17th-century farmhouse. As a working family farm offering luxury glamping pods and self-catered stays, it provides an idyllic rural retreat for guests.
Our team was commissioned to install traditional Estate Fencing along the front boundary of the property, creating a seamless and complementary finish to the large entrance gate.
Delivered to site as loose components, the fencing allowed the team to follow the natural boundary line with accuracy. For this project, we used our Burghley Estate Fencing, standing at 1.2 metres high—the same height as a standard wooden post-and-rail system. Each post was spaced one metre apart and finished with the classic rounded top rail and four lower flat rails. Renowned for its refined, decorative appearance, this style is ideal for more prominent or ‘showpiece’ areas, making it the perfect choice for the property’s entrance.
To provide additional safety and prevent small animals, including the family’s pet dog, from passing through the lower rails, lambs wire was discreetly added to the bottom section of the fence—a subtle yet highly effective solution.
Once installed, the fencing was welded and painted black to match the existing entrance gate, ensuring a cohesive and striking finish.
We’ve received fantastic feedback on the outcome. The fencing not only enhances the approach to Hood Lane Farm but also provides a strong, long-lasting boundary that will look impressive for over 60 years.
