Our client in Gloucestershire had always envisaged having Estate Fencing on his land. We were hired to install Estate Fencing and 2 gates along a river. Working closely with the client and the Estate Manager, the client chose our Burghley range, finished with the traditional Rutland Top end posts.

We installed 140 meters of 1.2meter high Estate Fencing along a river, with a fan at the end to finish the line. A fan is used to complete a fence when there is an obstacle such as water or a severe fall at the end of the line or one can be used purely for aesthetics. The client wanted the fence to look like it had always been there so he selected our cast Rutland top end posts and had the fence painted in the traditional black.

We put in 2 gates 3.6 meters long, which gave rear vehicular access to the rear grounds. The gates were both Half Moon Gates which the client chose to match an existing gate in the area. As with our Fence the gates were manufactured in our workshop in Leicestershire and delivered to site by a lorry. If a job is less than 120 meters, we deliver the steel ourselves to site with the use of a trailer.

As there is a public footpath that runs along the border of the clients property a stile was installed to maintain easy access without the need for a gate. Our team designed and manufactured this bespoke stile onsite using steel and wood. It was cemented into the ground like the fence and incorporated into the fence. The team were very pleased with the finished look as was the client.

Our favourite area of the job was to install a handrail over a bridge, this was designed to match the half-moon gates that we had installed. It was created onsite and was installed for safety for anyone crossing the bridge. We did not attach it to the stone, but it continued on from the fence. A handrail is generally installed at a height between 0.9 and 1.1 meters, dependant on the clients personal choice. This puts the handrail lower than our fence, which makes it even easier to play Poohsticks!

We really enjoyed being back in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside working on this site and it was a pleasure to install the fence the customer had longed for.
