The Traditional Company has recently completed this Estate Fencing installation with bespoke gates in Romsey.
The client got in touch with us as they were looking for Estate Fencing for a Victorian brick built house and wanted a traditional fence that was in keeping for the front of the property.
Charlie conducted the initial site visit in Romsey, Hampshire. During the site meeting Charlie suggested we refurbished their existing gate, pairing it with our cast iron octagonal gate posts.
CAD drawings were produced for the client to sign off.
The original gate was collected by Charlie and sent off to be shot blasted. Once the gate had been returned to our Fabrication Unit in Leicestershire we found that due to the type of material the gate had been built from our welds wouldn’t stick so instead be built a new gate frame from mild steel, repurposing the heart sections from the original gate and building the remaining sections from mild steel.
The Southern installation team installed the Chatsworth Fence and gates.
A note from Charlie,
I first met Alan for a site visit at his home in September ’22.
He wanted a simple boundary fence to finish off the refurbishment work that was being undertaken at the time. Whilst discussing options for the fence, we opted for our ‘Chatsworth’ 4 rail fence so it wouldn’t feel too imposing. He asked if there was anyway we could incorporate the old victorian gate that was original from the house. It needed shot blasting and refurbishment followed by modifications to make it taller to fill the space. (Image with black drawings over the top was the concept stage) I suggested our ‘Hambleton’ cast gate posts would work really well and remain in keeping with the aesthetics of the property.
The curves formed were challenging to create but really set off the parking area at the front of the property.
All in all a thoroughly enjoyable client to work with.
