At The Traditional Company our range of Steel Planters follow designs of old. Our talented team fabricate all of our Planters at our Fabrication Unit in Leicestershire, using British Steel.

We have recently created these bespoke planters for a London Garden created by Rosebank Landscaping.

We are one of Rosebanks main contractors for the fabrication of their bespoke planters and all of their edging.

For this project the planters were required to fit a London garden. The garden was based all on different levels so the planters had to connect seamlessly and were all produced at various heights.

They were produced from a 3mm mild steel with a 30mm folded lip and powder coated in RAL 7021 black grey.

We worked closely with Rosebank to select the colour, it had to keep in with the aesthetics of the garden so we supplied them with several samples of the  powder coated finish (RAL 7016, 7021, 7024 and 7026)  before they decided on RAL 7021.

Sizes:

  1. 700mm high x 800 wide x 6040mm long
  2. 900mm high x 430mm wide x 4000mm long
  3. 700mm high 800mm deep (L shape)
  4. 600mm high varying width as per drawing.
  5. 400mm high x 1120mm wide x 2360 mm long

Rosebank provided us with the drawings for the planters and worked alongside Martin to ensure they were fit for purpose. Making sure we include drainage holes and incorporating stay bars on the taller planters so they could withstand the weight of the soil.

The original plan from Rosebank was to supply the planters in pieces for self installation, but due to the size of these we recommended supplying each planter as a whole and we welded at our fabrication unit to add further strength and rigidity to each of them.

They were all delivered site for Rosebank to slot into place. With an 8 week lead time from brief through to delivery to site.

At The Traditional company our collection of steel planters include square steel planters, tapered steel planters, round steel tub planters, and steel trough planters.

They are crafted from a wide range of Solid Steel, including mild steel, corten steel, stainless steel and copper plated. Our mild steel planters have a weathered lead effect, whereas our copper plated troughs can either be lacquered to keep their pristine lustre or allowed to attain the classic verdigris finish. Corten steel offers a very even weathered look , with the advantage that the rust will not run off and stain. Each planter is made to your exact specification and we can deliver directly to you.

Our planters will last for years to come and create the ‘WOW’ factor in any garden.

Bespoke Vertical Screens for County Garden Management

We collaborated with County Garden Management to manufacture bespoke vertical screens for a garden project in Essex, designed to soften a large brick wall and enhance the overall space. Fabricated in-house at our Leicestershire facility, the screens were created from detailed technical drawings and will naturally develop a rich, weathered patina within a few months, blending seamlessly into the landscape.

It was great to be back in Berkshire for the next phase of the installation, making further progress on the project and adding the new, larger entrance gate. This stage marked an important step in bringing everything together and enhancing both the functionality and overall appearance of the property.
